For the last three decades the Resource Centre for the Arts has pursued a mandate to share resources and expertise with local artists so that they might have a place to develop and present original work - work that has helped enrich and define the cultural life of our community. As you know, many of the artists whom RCA has supported over the years have gone on to become international ambassadors for the art and culture of Newfoundland and Labrador - artists such as Mary Walsh, Gordon Pinsent, Rick Mercer, Andy Jones, Cathy Jones, Tommy Sexton, Berni Stapleton, Amy House, Ed Riche, Ron Hynes - to name but a few. The list of those fostered through the existence of RCA goes on, and our goal is to add many names to it for years to come. Long-term sustainability is essential to maintaining RCA's vital role in the artistic development of our province. In recognition of this, we are inviting you to participate in the RCA's annual donor campaign.
All monies raised from this campaign will go directly towards the ongoing operations of the LSPU Hall. It will allow this historic building to be maintained and preserved as a space where art can be inspired, created and displayed. In an average year of operations, this venue facilitates over 200 performance nights of theatre, dance, concerts, readings, awards, forums and more - contributed to by over 500 artists. The economic impact of these contributions has been estimated at over ¾ of a million dollars annually.
If you would like to make a donation to "The Hall" please contact us, or click here for a printable form.
Sincerely,
RCA Board of Directors
