Main Goals/ Artistic Objectives
To promote the development and work of professional, mid-career, and emerging contemporary visual artists.
To provide resources, services, and a supportive, meaningful context for artistic activity through information sharing, workshops, skills development and a sense of community.
To increase project collaboration and liaison with other artist-run centres, the Art Gallery of Newfoundland and Labrador, VANL (Visual Arts Newfoundland and Labrador), and artists/galleries outside the province.
To foster collaboration between visual and other artists by scheduling activities which include, group and multimedia exhibitions capitalizing on the vision and spirit that is the Resource Centre for the Arts.
To demonstrate leadership in issues relating to contemporary art and its practice.
To carry out an annual review and assessment of Gallery programming to ensure it remains true to its vision, flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the visual arts community.
To explore more closely the relationship of an artist to his/her environment and those issues which have an impact on their lives and culture.
